Hi.  I’m Karen.
A big fan of creativity.

I used to make a living working with Special Ed students, so Art was my catharsis.  Eventually, I quit to pursue my dream that I’ve had since I was ten years old:

Basically, Art + Coffee + Community.
(Moral of the story: Follow your dreams, kid, even if it pays 3x less; your heart will be happier.)

So for the most part, this blog is dedicated to my artistic journey on the way to that dream – lots of searching, observing, attempting, learning.

I’m apt to work as a sketchbook artist (mostly with hand-drawn type/script and linear illustrations),
But you will see paint smear every now and then (which I’d do more often, given a canvas).
I’ve done a lot of photography too (but comparatively, it isn’t my passion).
